Q
Fewer and fewer people walk on a daily basis. What are the reasons and how to encourage them to spend their time walking?
A
Introduction:
- People seem to be increasingly reluctant to have a walk regularly. (To be reluctant to do something)
- As there are certain causes of such a trend >< solutions are also available to encourage people to walk more.
Body:
- A number of reasons for the lack of people’s interest in the walking activity.
+ the convenience of modern technology in travelling
+ technological applications > support travelling. eg: electric lifts and escalators > common in public places
+ move to the higher levels of a building > better stairs > feel unnecessary to walk
+ walking for exercise > boring > repeat a series of actions every day < different exercising machines at gym < talk with other people.
- some workable solutions to be adopted to raise people’s interest in walking.
+companies+ gov should run campaign to encourage > to walk < event in form of a walking competition with prizes
+raise awareness about the benefits of walking to health.
+ Gov should build more sidewalk < convenient & safer
