what is metabolism?
When your body uses the nutrients in foods, a series of chemical reactions occurs inside your cells. As a result, energy is released – this process is known as metabolism.
Describe somone with a fast metabolism?
a girl who can eat an entire box of donuts and never show any extra weight on her body. She has a fast burning metabolism. Her body quickly burns all of the nutrients supplied to her from the box of donuts allowing for little extra nutrients sitting around in her cells to create extra body weight
What happens to our metabolism as we grow?
As we age our metabolism slows down, which is why there is a distinct body difference between a 16-year-old male and 40-year-old male. In females, metabolism reaches a plateau at ages 18-21 and for males at ages 25-30.
