Q

How does a stress responce work?

A

It happens because of the relationship between your brain and the rest of your body. Your brain recognizes the stressor and evaluates it. The brain decides whether or not the stressor is a threat and causes your body to react accordingly.

Q

The body’s response to stress occurs in three stages, the first stage is the alram stage describe it

A

During this stage, your body releases a substance called adrenaline into your blood. This causes immediate changes in your body. These changes prepare you for the fight-or-flight response. This response allows you to either “fight” the cause of stress or “take flight.” This is a valuable response for survival.

Q

The body’s response to stress occurs in three stages, the second stage is the resistance stage describe it

A

During this stage, you recognize and adapt to the presence of a stressor even though your body didn’t go through the alarm stage. Your body does not have time to go through the alarm stage when you deal with the stressor too quickly. Although you think you are no longer stressed, your body still reacts. This takes a lot of energy and you may feel tired and irritable because of it.

Q

The body’s response to stress occurs in three stages, the third stage is the exhaustion stage describe it

A

In this stage, your body has used so much energy responding to the stressor that it can no longer perform well at tasks you need to do. Exhaustion does not occur with every stress response. People reach the exhaustion stage after dealing with stress for a long time (known as chronic stress).
