  • administer 30 min before meal to decrease chances of muscle spasm
  • adverse effects: anticholinergic effects
  • 20-40 mg tid - qid

A
  • hyoscyamine sulfate
  • anticholinergic
  • used in IBS
  • if used in emergency room, used for spastic colon
  • oral tablets: take on empty stomach before meal
  • also comes in SL and SR
  • Levsin 0.125mg tabs: 0.125-0.25 mg q4h prn
  • Levbid: 1 - 2 capsules q12h
