what is this clubfoot?
most common; can be unilateral or bilateral
- An isolated anomaly
- Make up 80% of Clubfoot
congenital/idiopathic clubfoot
what is this clubfoot?
associated w/ intrinsic etiologies:
spina bifida
arthrogryposis
bilateral
Syndromic Clubfoot
what is this clubfoot?
associated w/ extrinsic etiologies (things affected space in the uterus)
Extrinsic Etiologies:
uterine fibroids
increased intrauterine pressure
breech position
oligohydramnios
multiple fetuses
*spontaneously correct w/ other abnormalities, like hip dysplasia
positional clubfoot
what is this clubfoot?
due to nerve damage or neuro conditions
o Ex: sciatic or peroneal nerve trauma, stroke, CMT, brain trauma/hemorrhage
o Developed in adulthood (but can begin in childhood)
Acquired Clubfoot
can detect clubfoot at 12-13 weeks gestation
