what grade?

hallux equinus/flexus

plantar subluxation proximal phalanx

metatarsus primus elevatus

joint dorsiflexion

no degenerative joint changes noted radiographically

hyperextension of the hallucal interphalangeal joint

protonatory architexture

*joint is normal but has reduced ROM in RCSP;NCSP (corrected) normal ROM

Q

what grade?

obliteration of joint space

exuberant osteophytosis

deformity and/or malalignment

total ankylosis may occur

inflammatory joint flares possible

local pain is most likely secondary

*not as painful as grade 3, fusion most likely, no pain then leave it alone
