provides qualative data
used by coach to spot probelms with an atheltes technique so they can implement corrections
e.g watching video coach spots that perfomer is too high over the hurdle

perfection is not always possible
coaches can become obsessed with mastering the technique
but mastering perfect technique implies we have ther perfect body, whcih is not the case
changing athletes technique can cause injury

provides quantitive data
useful for long sidtance running, cycling etc

GPS signal can be lost cuaing the data be incorrect/incomplete
athlete could become over reliant on data/setting targets too high rather then listening to their body
therefore, increasing chances of injury
