Q

How I know if perforations are overbalance or Under balance?

A
  1. Overbalanced – BHP in wellbore > reservoir pressure
    1. Surge following perforation acts to compact debris
    2. Requires less complex equipment and techniques
  2. Underbalanced – BHP in wellbore < reservoir pressure
    1. Removes perforation debris at time of perforation
    2. Reduces likelihood of near-wellbore damage
    3. Requires special equipment and techniques

Q

Power Law Model

A
  1. k is the Y intercept: it is called the consistency coefficient. n is the power law exponent named the behavior index.
  2. If n >1 then its shear thickening. If n<1, then its shear thinning.
