Q

what happen with High Young Modulus

and Low Young Modulus?

A

High Young Modulus- fracture is not as wide, but is much longer.

Low Young Modulus - fractur is wider and the length is shorter.

Q

Darcys equation for radial flow assumes the following conditions:

A
  1. The permeability expressed as k in the equation is effective permeability.
  2. The reservoir is homogeneous.
  3. Isothermal conditions exist.
  4. No turbulence (laminar flow) exists
  5. The fluid is nonreactive.

Q
  1. What is skin?
A
  1. Skin is an overall change in the production characteristics of the well near the wellbore.
  2. Skin represents some physical impairment that adds an additional pressure drop to the system.
  3. Skin can be either restrictive to flow as a positive value or helpful to flow as a negative value.
