Treatment for Nappy rash

A
  • Caster oil cream apply thin layer
  • If the nappy rash is causing discomfort - Hydrocortisone causes skin thinning should be older than 1 month no longer than 7 days
  • Clotrimazole 1% if candidal infection has settled if nappy rash stays after hydrocortisone
  • 20 minutes between the hydrocortisone and barrier cream

  • Asymptomatic loss of taste white patches wipe the patch leaves red

  • Inital course of 7 day continue for 7 days after symptoms resolve using miconazole oral gel (give 2 6 onths appart)
  • Can’t give miconazole and warfin interaction give nistatin instead continue 2 days after treatment

  • Uncontrolled syptoms after 2-4 weeks of correct use of medication
  • <2 years and severe symptoms

  • Sea sickness tablet
  • 1 dose 2 hrs beofre journey but may cause drowsiness
