Pharmacology
A
An oral, sterile, liquid preparation used as a short term analgesic in infants. It causes an increase of endogenous opioid resulting in approx 5-8mins of analgesia

* Distress due to pain

Contraindications
A
• Pts >1yr
• Sucrose intolerance i.e (CSID)
- congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency
• Fructose intolerance
• Glucose-galactose malabsorption
• Concurrent muscle relaxant/paralysis therapy
