A
Is a non-selective NSAID that inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins resulting in analgesic, antipyretic & anti-inflammatory actions

A
Metabolised by the liver & excreted mainly by the kidneys

Indications
A
Moderate pain due to acute inflammation & tissue injury

Contraindications
A
- Allergy and/or adverse drug reaction to any NSAID
- Current GI bleeding OR peptic ulcers
- Dehydration AND/OR hypovolaemia
- Renal impairment
- NSAID induced asthma
- Heart failure
- Pregnancy
- Angiotension converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor OR Angiotension II receptor blocker (ARBs)
- Pts <13 OR ≥ 65yrs
- Pts taking anticoagulants
- Diuretic Rx
