CCP Amiodarone Flashcards
1
Q
Drug class
A
Anti-arrhythmic
2
Q
Pharmacology
A
Prolongs the duration of the action potential & therefore the refractory period of atrial, nodal & ventricular tissues. Reduces conduction across all cardiac tissue - including myocardial & conducting system cells. Demonstrates electrophysiological properties across all Vaughan-Williams Class groups, which enable a broad spectrum of activity
3
Q
Indications
A
- Cardiac arrest (refractory VF or pulseless VT)
* Substantial conscious VT (haemodynamically stable)
