what is it caused by?
A
HPV types 6 and 11 (and occasionally type 1)

what are the symptoms?
A
soft fleshy warts anywhere in genital area

what is the epidemiology?
A
- >90% of UK population have genital HPV infection at some point in life
- only about 20% of those infected with a wart-causing strain get warts

how do you diagnose it?
A
- clinical
- biopsy if unusual (to exclude intraepithelial neoplasia)

Rx?
A
topic Rx with liquid nitrogen, podophyllin
