- when columnar epithelium of endocervix has extended out to the ectocervix
- columnar epithelium is more prone to trauma therefore more likely to bleed

risk factors?
A
- high oestrogen levels ie COCP
- pregnancy

presentation?
A
can be asymptomatic
- post coital bleeding
- increased vaginal discharge

Mx?
A
- cryotherapy
- smear to rule out cervical carcinoma
