Spinal Cord: Ascending Tracts Flashcards
Cuneocerebellar Tract
Sensory tract:
Ascends to Cerebellum for (Ipsilateral) subconscious proprioception of the neck and UE
Fasciculus Cuneatus (Posterior or dorsal column)
Sensory Tract: āC before Gā
- For the trunk, neck, UEs
- Proprioception, vibration, two point discrimination, graphesthesia
Fasciculus Gracilis (Posterior or dorsal column)
Sensory Tract:
- For the trunk, LEs
- Proprioception, vibration two point discrimination ,graphesthesia
Spinocerebellar Tract (dorsal and ventral)
Sensory Tract:
Ascends to Cerebellum for (ipsilateral)
- Subconscious Proprioception
- Muscle Tension
- Joint Position Sense
- posture of trunk and LEs
Spino-Olivary tract
Ascends to Cerebellum and relay information from (Cutaneous and Proprioceptive Organs)
Spinoreticular tract
Afferent pathway for Reticular Formation that influences levels of consciousness
Spinotectal Tract
Provides afferent information for spinovisual reflexes and assists with movements of eyes and head
Spinothalamic Tract (Anterior)
Part of the Anterolateral System
Sensory Tract for crude touch/pressure
Dorsal Column Medial Lemniscus DCML
proprioception
vibration
two-point discrimination
graphesthesia
Spinothalamic Tract (Lateral)
Part of the Anterolateral System
Senory tracts for Pain and Temperature
