Concussion
Is an injury that normally occurs from a blow to the head
Symptoms: headache, dizziness and confusion
Fractures
Is a broken or cracked bone that occurs from a blow
4 different fractures: compound, simple, in closed and stress
Injuries to the bone
Greenstick Tranverse Impacted Comminuted Oblique
Dislocations
It is when the bone is forced out of its normal resting position
Torn cartilage
Is when the cartilage between the bones slowly wears away and then tears
Sprains
A sprain is a damaged ligament
Soft tissue injury
When the bones at the joint move too far past their range and tear and pull ligaments and tendons
Strains
A strain is a twist pull or tear of a muscle tendon
Abrasions
It is a graze that is caused by friction between the screen and rough surfaces
