Soc 9 Flashcards
Long term affects of aerobic exercise
Increase the ability to work for long periods of time
Improved times on long distance running
Long term effects of anerobic exercise
Increase the ability to move in bursts
Effects on the musculoskeletal system
Increase strength of ligaments
Effects on the cardiorespiratory system
Faster recovery rate
Decreased resting heart rate
Increased resting stroke volume
Effects on the cardio respiratory system(lungs)?
Increase in lung capacity
Increased number of aveoil
Increased diaphragm strength and external intercostal muscles
Aveoli
Tiny sacs within our lungs that allow oxegen and carbon dioxide to move between the lungs and bloodstream
Diaphram
The primary muscle used in the process of inspiration or inhalation
Cardiac output
The amount of blood ejected from your heart in one minute (CO)=(RSV)X(RHR)
Effects on the cardio respiratory system(blood)?
-increased number of capilaries in your muscles
-blood vessels are more efficient and more red blood cells therefore more cells to carry oxegen around the body this reduces the build up of lactic acid and Co2 in the muscles
-decrease in resting blood pressure
