Open skill
When the situation is always changing. Have to adapt to situation
Closed skill
Takes place in stable predictable enviourment and player knows exaclty where when how and what to do
Basic skill
Player finds easy and needs little concentration. E.g side pass in football
Complex skill
Needs to be complete with players full attention and is techinacly difficult to peform. E.g pen in football
Low organised skill
Has clear simple phases and can be broken down and practiced individualy
High organised skill
Lots of complicated parts to it and cannont be broken down and practiced. E.g summersalt
Massed practice
When skill is practiced untill its lesrned. Normally for fit experimced athletes
Disributed practice
Skill is practice over several occasions with rest or breaks. Normally for lower ability or fit players
Fixed practice
Skill is practiced over and over again untill its perfect. Eg free throw
Variable practicei
Skill is practiced in vairtey of different situations
Visual guidance
Where coach or trainer demonstrates to you how to peform a skill or technique. E.g if a coach wanted to teach you how to lay up
Verbal guidance
Can be hard for beginners to understand but can be hepful as long if clear
Manual guidance
When coach is in physical contact with learner
Mechanical guidance
When there is a machine to help you instead
Intrinsic feedback
Comes from peformer themselves as they think about how they peformed on contributed
