Carbohydrates: what, importance and example

A

Main source of energy in the body stored in the muscles and liver as glycogen.
Simple carbs digest quickly and cause spikes in blood sugar and energy levels, e.g. cake, soda.
Complex carbs deigest slowly and keep blood sugar levels stable, e.g. vegetables and brown bread.
