Q

Steps to assess for skeletal dysplasia on ultrasound:

A

Bone length - is it short and what part is short? Bone quality - is it curved, fractured, demineralized? Chest - is it long and narrow or short? Face - is there a small jaw, cleft, abnormal telorism? Head - is it abnormally shaped (cloverleaf), is it large? Hands and feet - are there extra digits, short, deformed? is it clubbed? Spine - is there abnormal curvature

Q

Third trimester shortening of bones is associated with what skeletal dysplasia:

A

Achondroplasia

19
Q

Trident hand and association with skeletal dysplasia:

A

When the last four fingers are the same length. It can be seen in various chondrodysplasias

20
Q

Femur to foot length:

A

Femur to foot length ratio of less than 1 is associated with skeletal dysplasia
