SETTING HR OBJECTIVES Flashcards
What are human resource objectives
Human resource objectives: The specific goals set in relation to the management of an organisation’s labour that will enable a company to achieve its corporate objectives.
What is the value fo HR objectives
Enables better decision making in relation to HR decisions (Ex: If the company is planning on expanding to india, you might have to make your staff start doing cultural training - You say “cultural training” instead of saying teach staff how to speak indian)
Creates clarity and purpose for HR objectives (going to open a new store in the city, and you need to employ 10 members of staff for that store - This creates clarity and purpose for HR objectives
Allows success to be measured and reviewed - If you recruited 8 members of staff for the new store, and you had the objective of recruiting 10 new members of staff, then you failed to meet the objective
Increase motivation of staff who have been set clean targets - If you set staff targets that will be difficult for them to achieve, but still possible to achieve, then it’s going to most likely increase motivation in the staff member/ members.
