+SOWAA
“breaking down barriers between people”
reconciliation
Christians believe in reconciliation because:
-Jesus died on the cross to bring forgiveness and reconciliation.
-Jesus said that if people do not forgive those who have sinned against them, God will not forgive their sins.
-Christianity is based on the concept of forgiveness and reconciliation.
Problems faced by the persecuted Church
-several countries in the world where it is no longer safe to be a Christian
-Christians are often abducted and killed.
Christian teachings about charity
Christianity teaches that God created humans to be stewards of the earth and that God wants Christians to love their neighbours.
St Paul said that it does not matter how religious or good you look,
or if you do things such as prophesying, speaking in tongues, being able to
understand the greatest of mysteries, sacrificing everything; without love,
then none of these things matter “Love is patient, love is kind”
St Paul ended his teachings about spiritual gifts with these words:
“these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
Parable of the Sheep and the Goats,Christians need to show love to everyone, especially those who are in
need.
Christian aid
-relieve the suffering of people left homeless after the Second World
-Campaigning to end world poverty
promotes Fairtrade products to bring better prices, decent working conditions.
-supports agricultural production and long-term food security
-deal with natural disasters and refugees,
which often have to take priority over development projects
Why the Christian Aid is trying to end world poverty?
-Jesus told the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats where he said “When I was hungry, you fed me”
-All the Churches teach that Christians have a duty to help the poor and suffering “speak out on behalf of those without a voice”
-golden rule for Christians is to treat other people in the way you would like to be treated.
