experienced in the same way as perception of an external stimulus except they take place without any stimulus present. most common is auditory halluciantions but they have no specific sensory modality

when an individual beliefs that thoughts have been implanted in their head by a higher being such as god

individuals decrease in responsiveness to environment
may sit completely still and not SPEAK,HAVE NO REACTIONS
