why might you conduct a cross study?
find out the experience of people at different ages of schiz but not over a long period of time
what are strengths of cross study? (3)
- drawn together quickly, has more application at the time
- cheaper, less time, commitment, costs
- practical, ethics
what are weaknesses of cross study?(2)
- individual differences, results affected by age
- not useful to see course of treatment or disorder, no personal history
what is a cross cultural study?
involves taking samples from different cultural groups to draw comparison about similarities and differences between them to consider how culture may impact on the behaviour in question
