What are the 3 types of schizoaffective disorder?
A
o Bipolar type – manic episode
o Depressive type – mainly depressed episodes
o Mixed – both manic and depressive – just 1 week
Delusions are congruent with their mood

Investigations? (8)
A
- Baseline bloods: FBC, U&E and LFTs, TFTs, HIV test.
- Urine or plasma toxicology.
- CXR to exclude pneumonia in the elderly.
- Other imaging if clinically indicated – e.g. patients with abnormal neurology may require CT or MRI scanning.
