What is Phobic Anxiety Disorder? (2)
Part of episodic anxiety umbrella (along with Panic Disorder)
Persistent irrational fear that produces anticipatory anxiety for avoidance of feared object, activity or situation
What are three types of PAD?
Agoraphobia
Social phobia
Specific phobias
What is agoraphobia?
Cluster of phobias including: fear of leaving home; entering shops; crowds and public places; travelling alone in trains, buses or planes
What is social phobia?
Feat of being judged by others ± being embarrassed and humiliated
Low confidence, blushing, hand tremor, nausea
may progress to panic attacks
Specific phobias:
