Pathogens?
disease causing micro-organisms.
What are pathogens caused by? (4)
bacteria, viruses, protists, fungi.
What kind of diseases are ones caused by pathogens?
communicable diseases.
What does cholera cause?
.diarrhoea
.caused by the bacterium vibrio cholerae
What does tuberculosis cause?
.lung damage
.caused by bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis
What does chalara ash dieback cause?
.leaf loss and bark lesions
.caused by a fungus known as chalara
What does maleria cause?
.damage to blood and liver
.caused by a protist called plasmodium which multiplies inside red blood cells and liver cells
What does HIV cause?
.destroys white bloood cells leading to the onset of AIDS
What are stomach ulcers caused by?
.an infection of helicobacter pylori bacteria

What does ebola cause?
