When a document or equipment is missing the PIC must obtain a replacement.
After power up and IESS intialization, how long must the aircraft remain unmoved.

To avoid Battery Depletion?
Establish AC power ASAP
When Display units 2 and or 4 are configured as PFDs.
How do you set 2 and 4 back to MFD.s?
Use the Revisionary panel selector
set respective knob to MFD then to Auto.
After 8 secs the affected display config returns to MFD display.
When are the NAV and LOGO lights turned on?
NAV after power is established, LOGO after power established at night.and also all operations under FL180 at night.
When is the APU started?
10 min prior to pushback
unless required for passenger comfort
To allow flight control built in test (PBIT) to complete, How long after power up can any hydraulic pump be turned on?
3 minutes
If Electrical PBIT is interrupted what message appears?

What will/may happen if the PACKS and ground air are used simultaneously?

(PBIT) consists of two different tests?
Electrical (E-BIT)
Hydraulic (H-BIT)
When is the E-PBIT automatically performed.
- Automatically after power up by intial AC source
- takes plus or minus 3 minutes to complete
What will interrupt the “E-PBIT” test
3x3
- any hydraulic pump running,
- Flight control mode panel switches are cycled,
- AC power interruption
What is displayed if the EBIT test is inturrupted?

When is the H-PBIT test performed.?
All three hydraulic systems are pressurized.
Hydaulic systems are pressurized in order 3,1,2

What does the FLT CTRL BIT EXPIRED, EICAS message mean?
If the last successful PBIT test was more than 50 hrs old.
Where can the elapsed time between PBITs be found (display/page)

What should flight crew do?
- Power Down using Leaving the Airplane Checklist
- Wait a min of 1 minute
- Power up using Safety and Power up Checklist
- Wait 3 min for E-BIT to run
- Perform H-BIT if required

what should flight crew do?
Perfom appropriate PBIT as outlined on 4-1-12 of he ERJ SOPM
- Do not move any flight controls
- Confirm STEER OFF EICAS message illuminated
IF STEER OFF not illuminated Press steer disengage switch
If STEER OFF is illuminated Procced to step 3
- Select HYD Synoptic page confirm all three hydraulic systems below 250psi and reservoir temp above +10c
- Turn Electrical hydraulic pumps 1,2,3a, on
- wait 60 sec
- VERIFY FLT CTRL BIT EXPIRED message extinguishes
- Turn Electrical HYD pumps 1, 2 to auto, 3A, off
When must the hydraulic systems warm-up procedure be accomplished?
Before starting the engines when the reservoir temperatures are below -18*c
How do you accomplish the HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS WARM-UP
Use QRH or SOPM?
What would cause an airspeed to be displayed on the PFD following (usually the first) power up?
Frozen moisture inside the ADSPs
What EICAS messages will/could be associated with an erroneous airspeed on the PFD on the ground?
ANY OR ALL
- AFCS FAULT
- AT FAIL
- AP FAIL
- FD FAIL
- YD FAIL
- APPR 2 NOT AVAIL
- ADS messages on EICAS
When must the Air Data Smart Probe (ADSP) heater procedure be accomplished?
First flight of the day (FFOD)
OATs below -18*c (0*f)
- ADSP heat ON
- PBIT COMPLETED (3min to complete)
- Verify clock on Flight Control Synoptic page resets to 50 hours
- IF PBIT does not run or PBIT countdown clock fails to reset
- After any ice in smart probes has had a chance to melt power down, wait 1 min, power up using normal procedure
- Flight Control PBIT should run properly
VERIFY
- no airspeed data is displayed on both PFDs
- all EICAS messages cleared
- ADSP Heat OFF
If ADSP heater procedure does not clear spurious AFCS
(PFD) and ADS EICAS messages, what must be done?
call MX control
When a RAM AIR FAULT advisory message remains for more than one minute after power up.
What is the clearing procedure?
- PACK 1 and PACK 2 PUSH OUT wait 5 secs
- PACK 1 and PACK 2 PUSH IN
- Fault message is considered nuisance no further action if message clears
- Message does not clear. Considered actual RAM AIR failure
