Originating Checklist intiated by captain read by First Officer
When?
Prior to PAX boarding and early enough to allow MX to correct any irregularities
ORIGINATING CHECKLIST is perfromed under any of the following circumstances?
- FFOD
- Crew Change Any Member.
- Aircraft left unattended The captain and FO accomplish the flow only
- After MX
What should the captain do if in the FMS NAV page both database are amber and a DATABASE OUT OF DATE message appears in the scratch pad?
Contact MX control
What must be done if a VERIFY POSITION message appears after initializing FMS position?
Both pilots will verify the correct position before any further FMS POS INIT entries are made
When checking the electronic CBs, what must agree?
MX status (i.e. collared CB agree with current deferrals)
When checking the PFD what data should NOT be presented?
Airspeed (see ADSP heater procedure)
What color on the O2 quantity dispay indicates servicing is required (no dispatch)?
Amber
On the O2 mask test, what indicates that the system is leak free?
The indicator must go out completely
What should be checked when testing the trim system?
Verify the system 3-second protection is working
What happens if a single side of a trim switch is operated for more than 7 seconds?
EICAS message displayed, MX must clear/reactivate switch
When is the cockpit door control tested?
First flight of the day
What happens if the EMERG ENTRY alarm sequence is allowed to complete without pushing the INHIB push button wihtin 30 seconds of the initial push of the EMERG ENTRY button?
The door will unlock
What are the recommended delegation of duties prior to departure (before running the start checklist)? (Table on SOPM 4-3.3)
CA: check fuel against release, Enter initial ALT in PFD, initialize ACARS, Call for Before Start Checklist (to the line). FO: Obtain ATC clearance, set assigned transponder code and flight ID, exterior inspection. PF: Initializes and enters all speeds in FMS, enters the released/cleared routing in the FMS (PM will verify), sets up GP for departure, verifies flight instruments are set and crosschecked, conducts the takeoff briefing, sets COMM/NAV frequencies
