1.Birds dont chew….
-use tongue to move food to back of mouth where it’s swallowed
-moves from the oesophagus to the crop
2.Pass to proventriculus…
-digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid are added
3.Moves to ventriculus (gizzard)..
-mechanically digested
-moves to caeca (two pouches where small and large intestines join)
-water is reabsorbed, food fermented
- Cloaca
-end of digestive system
-urinary and digestive waste is expelled via cloaca as one substance
