A
People were permitted from marrying, temples were closed and no official business was allowed to take place

A
Apart from a blood sacrifice on the first day by a Verstal Virgin it was a domestic festival that centred on the family rather than state

A
Offering were taken to tombs of the deceased during the first eight days
On the ninth the family would meet and share a meal
