First to eat where the priests, then semesters and other elite citizens and so on
What would happens in a private sacrifice ?
Only the participants would share the meat
What did the sharing of the meat show ?
It stresses the communal spirit and benefits of a sacrifice
Was meat a common part of a Roman diet ?
No so it was a major benefit to be able to eat it and participate in a sacrifice
