Counselling/SE
A
- 30 mins before food
- stopping suddenly –> flu like symptoms
- discolouration of bodily fluid –> orange (urine, faeces, swear, tears)
- tell dr if you have loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, jaundice, dark urine, pale stools –> hepatic damage
- use other contraception –> OC less effective
- interacts with many meds
SE:
- GI irritation (n/v, cramps, diarrhoea)
- orange-red discolouration of body fluids
- staining of soft contact lenses
- rash
- increase liver enzymes
- arthralgia, myalgia
- CNS (dizziness, headache, ataxia, confusion)
- hepatotoxicity
