Counselling/SE

A
  • 30 mins before food
  • stopping suddenly –> flu like symptoms
  • discolouration of bodily fluid –> orange (urine, faeces, swear, tears)
  • tell dr if you have loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, jaundice, dark urine, pale stools –> hepatic damage
  • use other contraception –> OC less effective
  • interacts with many meds

SE:

  • GI irritation (n/v, cramps, diarrhoea)
  • orange-red discolouration of body fluids
  • staining of soft contact lenses
  • rash
  • increase liver enzymes
  • arthralgia, myalgia
  • CNS (dizziness, headache, ataxia, confusion)
  • hepatotoxicity
