maintenance: initially 20–30 mg daily, then increase by small increments according to specialist, to a maintenance dose around 60– 80 mg daily in most patients.

Physeptone® 10 mg:
2.5 – 10 mg every 12 hours

• drowsiness and increase effect of alcohol
• if taken by another person –> serous injury/death
• It takes a few days to gain the full effect of a dose of methadone. In the meantime, you may feel uncomfortable but should not take opioids, alcohol or benzodiazepines as this increases the risk of overdose, can affect assessment of your symptoms, and it will take longer to tailor your dose.
• Tell any doctor or dentist who is treating you that you are on the methadone program so they can prescribe appropriately

Signs of intoxication: Slurred speech
• Unsteady gait
• Poor balance
• Drowsiness
• Retarded movement 
• Stupor.

SE:

• sedation
• orthostatic hypotension, dizziness
• nausea/vomiting
• constipation
• urinary retention
• respiratory depression
