Contrast with pathophys for emphysema.

A
  • Alveolar endothelial damage - capillary leakage (exudative phase)
    • vs emphysema: alveolar wall damage
  • maybe fibroproliferative stage; then fibrosis (honeycombing) or resolution
  • PaO2 / FIO2 < 200
  • Normal LA pressure (PWCP)
  • Fluffy white opacification on plain film
