- Alveolar endothelial damage - capillary leakage (exudative phase)
- vs emphysema: alveolar wall damage
- maybe fibroproliferative stage; then fibrosis (honeycombing) or resolution
- PaO2 / FIO2 < 200
- Normal LA pressure (PWCP)
- Fluffy white opacification on plain film

Mechanism of asthma airway obstruction?
A
- Pulmonary inflammation caused by leukotrienes
- Hyperresponsiveness to e.g. exercise or cold climate.
