tubulointerstitial nephritis

A

Acute interstitial renal inflammation;

Pyuria (classically eosinophils) and azotemia occuring after drug admin that act as haptens, inducing hypersensitivity.

when does nephritis occur

A

Nephritis typically occurs 1-2 weeks after certain drugs

(diureti, penicillin derivatives, sulfonamide, rifampin) but can occur months after starting NSAIDs
