BP regulating hormones Flashcards
1
Q
AT II
A
Affects baroreceptor function;
Limits reflex bradycardia, which if normally accompany its pressor effect
Thus help maintain blood volume and BP
2
Q
ANP
A
Released from atria in response to increased volume;
may act as a check on renin-angiotensin-aldo system;
relaxes vascular smooth muscle via cGMAP,
Increases GFR, decreases renin
3
Q
ADH
A
Primarily regulates osmolarity,
but also responds to low blood volume.
This takes precedence over osmolarity
4
Q
Aldosterone
A
Primarily regulates blood volume;
in low volume states,
both ADH and aldo act to protect volume
