how to test optic
- light refelx (afferent)
- snellen visual acuity
- visual fields (eyes on nose)
- accomodation reflex - pupils should converge and constrict
how to test cn3
draw a H - always ask for double vision
pupil reflex direct and indirect
ptosis - levato palpebrae
trochlear inneverates
superior obllique
if lateral rectus doesnt work the eye will be
medial
if cn3 palsy the eye will be
lateral and down(as superior oblique still works )

v1,v2,v3 cotton wool +pin prick
does it feel the same on both sides?
muscles of mastication
clench jaw (masseter) and relax should feel tension
open mouth and try to stop me from closing mouth
and opposite try to open mouth with a bit of resistance
jaw jerk reflex
testing CN7
puff out cheeks
pout
wrinkle eyebrows
smile
close and oen eyes dont let me open them
in bells palsy where is the lesion
on the same side its a lower motor neuron
signs of facial nerve dysfunction
dry mouth - parasymaptheitc innervation to salivary
dry eyes - parasympathetic lacrimal g
cant close eyes
hearing
anterior 2/3rds tongue
