investigations CES

19
Q

examinations for CES (ED)

A
  1. Pre and post void bladder
  2. digital rectal exam for tone
  3. refelexes
  4. sensation
  5. power
20
Q

how to test for saddle anaesthesia

A
  1. down the but crack just the very top
21
Q

what would happen to the reflexes in CES

A

can be both

deep tendon reflexes (DTRs) in the lower limbs are often diminished or absent, particularly in the ankle (Achilles reflex) and patellar (knee jerk reflex). This is because the cauda equina consists of nerve roots that contribute to these reflexes, and when those nerve roots are compressed or damaged, the reflexes can be impaired.

22
Q

PR EXAM CES what to ask

A

do you feel my finger ?
can you squeeze my finger
cough

23
