A

collapse lung- LOSS OF LUNG VOLUME
can be the whole lung, or a section of the lung.

can be caused by obstructive causes like a Tumor, mucous plug so air is not reaching the alveoli so they just collapse.

non obstructive would be like things in the pleural space putting pressure on the lung, pleural effusion, pneumothorax,

A

Or pleuritis
Inflammation of pleura
So anything that causes irration can cause it like viral infections, PE, pneumonia

Will hear friction rub on inhalation and exhalation
Is pleuritic, coughing , deep breathing
Will lie on affected side to stop pleura moving
Ask pt to hold breath will stop noise
