-HR manager should evaluate the job
-The HRM should indicate the job specifications
-Choose the method of recruitment to reach suitable candidates

Meaning of Job analysis
-A tool used by the HR function to source and analyse information about the business’ workforce. This information is then used to recruit the right person for the job
-It consists of a job description and job specification
Differences between Job description and Job analysis
Job description:
-Describes duties of a specific job
-A written description of the job and its requirements
-Describes the key performance areas for a specific job
Job specification:
-Describes the minimum acceptable personal qualities, skills and qualifications needed for the job
-A written description of specific qualifications, skills, and experience needed for the job
-Describes key requirements for the person who will fill the position
Meaning of recruitment
-An ongoing process because employees leave their jobs for new jobs or as new technical skills are being acquired
-Its a process used by the business to identify certain vacancies in the business and attract suitable candidates for them
Sources of internal recruitment
-Word of mouth
-Internal bulletins
-Internal emails
-Office notice boards
Impact of internal recruitment (Positives)
-The business knows the personality, strengths, and weaknesses of the candidate
-Current employees understand the operations of the business
Impact of internal recruitment (Negatives)
-Number of applicants is limited to current staff only
-Promoting a current employee may cause resentment among existing other employees

-Posters

-There is a larger pool of candidates to choose from
-It may help the business to meet affirmative action targets
Impact of external recruitment (Negatives)
-New candidates take longer to adjust to a new work environment
-Information on CV’s may not be reliable
