The Halo Effect

A
  • tendency to associate attractive people with disproportionately positive traits (e.g. personality and wealth)
  • ‘what is beautiful is good’ (Dion et al)
  • beliefs increase likelihood of attractive person developing these traits (Self-fulfilling prophecy)

‘Matching’ Hypothesis

A
