Restorative Justice Aims
A
- ‘giving the survivor a voice’
- showing the offender the emotional consequences of their behaviour
- positive outcomes, mediated discussions between offenders and survivors (not traditional)
- reduces recidivism rates

A
- assume that both parties will show remorse when participating. Especially with victims, as offenders are motivated to participate by a shorter sentence or rewards. Survivors also may want revenge.

A
Domestic Abuse Cases. RJ doesn’t place offender and victim on equal power balance, as victim will seem accusatory of offender. Limited utility as blame is not adequately placed on offender.

RJ can be modified to be used anywhere according to specific problems.
