  • shows different types of LTM, AND their different neurological bases, as they’re recalled from different parts of the brain

  • both had impaired episodic memory, but procedural and semantic remained unaffected
  • Clive Wearing: could understand the concept of music and play piano (procedural and semantic); but was unable to remember wife visiting him 5 minutes previously (episodic)
  • STRONG support for idea that LTM has different stores, as well as localisation of function
