Oxygen prescribing

In trauma => STAT
Dose in L
Delivery device
Target saturations
Nasal canula - 2-4l to raise sats slightly
Venturi - 2, 4, 8, 10, 15L, gives fixed O2, for COPD
NRM - 10-15L, for acutely unwell
Pain relief
May need to adjust for weight
ABx choice
Always stick with the first option unless CI
-check for penicilin allergies
When looking for specific ABx, look for the indication
-directions for administration
-record down the infusions and time

Type of fluid (generally NaCl unless patient needs more glucose or drug indications)

What would you need to consider with varying medicinal forms
IV is faster than PO
Some meds (alendronic acid) must only be taken on an empty stomach with no other meds
