Midstream Urine Flashcards
Introduction
Indications for MSU
Hello, I’m An, a 3rd year medical student on placement with the GP practice
Can I confirm your name and DOB
I’ve read through your notes and I understand that you may currently have a urine infection?
I’ve been asked by your GP to explain how to collect a urine sample that
-we can test to confirm this.
-we can use to find the most suitable antibiotic for you
Is this what you were expecting?
Ok, so I’ll
-explain how we’d like you to collect your sample
-ask you to explain to me how you’d collect your urine just so I can check that I’ve explained it clearly
Will this be ok?
