A
  • After Abu Talib’s death, the Prophet (PBUH) lost clan protection as Abu Lahab became the chief of Quraish.
  • He went to Taif to invite the Banu Saqeef tribe to Islam.
  • The three chiefs rejected his message, ordered people to drive him out, and he was severely injured by stones.
  • He took refuge in an orchard, where Angel Jibrail offered to destroy Taif, but the Prophet (PBUH) forgave them and prayed for their guidance.

  • This was known as the “Pledge of Women” (Bay’at al-Nisa) because it did not include fighting
