Philippians Flashcards
Philippians 3:20 (NRSV)
“[20] But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
We are citizens of Heaven and partakers of every spiritual blessing.
Philippians 1:28 (NRSV)
“[28] And are in no way intimidated by your opponents. For them this is evidence of their destruction, but of your salvation. And this is God’s doing.”
It is so important to know all the negative things in your life, and that whatever trials and tribulations that you are going through, are here to mould and shape you and to change your mindset to become more like Christ, and to trust in him.
Philippians 4:7 (NRSV)
“[7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Your heart and your mind need to be focused on Jesus and God will give you the peace that surpasses all understanding. What do I need to do? Say, “Jesus, guide my heart with your peace.” I would like to discern how the Holy Spirit can teach me. Before you open the Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to give you an overflow of understanding and wisdom and to help you to listen to hear what He is speaking. Throughout the day, when you get up in the morning, empty your mind and tell the Holy Spirit, “Nothing of me, it is all of you, Lord Jesus. Let your word dwell in me and give me more wisdom.”
