John Flashcards

Q

John 1:1 (NRSV)
“[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

A

The Word is the bridge that connects us to God and Jesus is the Word. We need to change our words when we meditate, whatever words come through our mind. Thoughts are words. Any negative words that we use are from the evil spirit and we need to bind and cast those evils spirits out so that God can view the good things and we can see the blessing, anointing, favour, healing, prosperity, everything that God has for us through Jesus Christ.

Q

John 10:10 (NRSV)
“[10] The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

A

The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy us. The devil steals all our money whatever we have. He comes to destroy our marriage, our good relationships and kills us by giving us sickness. The devil comes and puts words in our minds. He puts so much pressure on us because he does not want us to speak anything other than what is in our minds. So, the moment we speak out what is on our minds, we must understand that life and death is in the power of our tongue. The moment the thoughts overpower you, for example, your thoughts are telling you, “You have A, B, C,” and now you start to think and feel that the pain is in your body, and that’s the time the devil is putting thoughts in your mind. Because God has made us perfect and our spirit, our soul, and body is completely healed and set free. From the moment we are born again, we are a new creation and are completely new. We are made in the righteousness of God and everything is in perfect fullness. However, our mind and body are still old and that’s why we need the Word of God and the Bible to renew our mind, to change the way we think, and the words that come out of our mouths.

We no longer speak what we feel, what we think, what we want, or what we know. That is our self-righteousness. In the Bible, God clearly teaches us that we need to be dead to ourselves.

Q

John 1:14 (NRSV)
“[14] And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen His glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and Truth.”

A

Jesus became human flesh. Jesus Christ is the Word. Only when I have the Word in me, I see Jesus in me and that’s when the Word becomes flesh and becomes alive in me. That is when I see the healing, restoration, prosperity, and everything He did for us on the Cross; I am completely made whole. How do I do this? I need to meditate on and have the knowledge of the Word of God. Now that I’m born again, I have the knowledge of God and God has put it in my heart already.

Q

John 16:13 (NRSV)
“[13] When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”

A

That is when the Holy Spirit will teach me everything and guide me in all Truth. So, the more I meditate and think on the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will give me the explanation, understanding, and wisdom on how to apply it. So, when I sit and ponder over the Word of God it gives me more understanding.

Q

John 14:26 (NRSV)
“[26] But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

A

When you walk with the Holy Spirit, it is everything of Him and not of us. People say, “I am not able to remember scriptures, I am too young or too old”. When you give excuses like this, you are walking in the flesh. The devil said you are not able to. But what does God say? You can do everything. When you walk in the Spirit, the Spirit will teach you. All you need to do is ask Him to remind you what He has taught you and the Holy Spirit reveals it in your heart. That’s your Rhema word and you just speak it out of your mouth.
